Genome Annotation for M. pneumoniae:
Genes -

EMBL@Heidelberg
General infos about this server

This is the current table of the M.pneumoniae genome. Note that it still contains the original genbank numbering and 677 proteins. In the meantime we have annotated another 12 protein reading frames in intergenic regions, here are the detailed data and comments on these new reading frames (there are further 4 reading frames included with in-frame stops). Furthermore, we dismissed one reading frame (MP237 in the table below, see comment there). Additionally, a list of the re-annotated RNA genes is given. Taking all this changes into account and considering that in most procaryotes gene numbers start from the origin of replication, here is the new gene numbering table . We gave new MPN numbers for each reading frame, followed by the numbering of the original publication (Himmelreich et al., 1996), old genbank numbering, PID and ORF identifier for full cross-reference of any reading frame. An overview on the reannotated M. pneumoniae genome.

Search in:
This search engine is designed for the following table, and for the retrieval of genomic DNA regions, Annotators, & ZMBH entries, correspondingly.Perl's pattern-matching can be used ["\.*" for everything, "\w+" for any string, "\s+" for at least one space.]. For example, you want to find all genes whose comment contains "new", but not "new_but", you can use the following string in the search field:"new[^_]".Or you want to know how many domains are found among the MP's protein set, just enter: "\w+" [for any character in a string] for domains search.Or enter "ok" to find out OK in Func_EMBL. Or for searching against length: please use "<, <=, ==, >=, >", for example: <=100 for seq. length equal or smaller than 100 aa. Or using the format "77..3999" for search in Coding regions.
For a given DNA regions in format: "1..60" or" complement(77..3418)" the DNA sequence will be returned.
In Searching for Annotators, one can use either the author's name or Mp's name (like MP001). The ZMBH list is kindly provided by Prof. Hermann at ZMBH, HD. Please take a look at the list of ZMBH <-> Genbank comp.
